There is a maximum on how far you can set your limit price when buying or selling US stocks and ETFs as the US executing brokerages will reject any orders too far away from the quoted price.
Limit orders will be required to have a limit price within 30% of the quoted price to reduce the risk of the orders being rejected by executing brokers.
