You can easily start the processing of designating a beneficiary or successor holder for your Trade TFSA by filling out a digital beneficiary form here.* For RRSPs, please use the different form found here*.
You will be asked to enter your name and email in order to access the form. Please enter your full name as it appears on your Wealthsimple Trade profile and enter the email address associated with your Trade profile.
After you enter your email address, a verification code will be sent to your inbox (please check your Junk folder if it's been more than a few minutes). Enter the verification code in order to continue with opening the form.
When filling out the form, please ensure the following:
1. Please ensure you are using the correct form (see first paragraph).
2. Please include your complete TFSA or RRSP account number. This will start with an "H" and end in "CAD". Instructions on how to locate your account number can be found here.
3. When filling out an address, please include the city, province, and postal code.
Once you've completed all of the required fields, click "Finish" at the bottom. A copy of this partially filled out form will be sent to your inbox. **Important** - You will need to print, physically sign, and send us a scanned copy of this form. You will receive an email (separate from the Docusign email) from our team shortly after you download the form asking you to respond to it & attach a copy with your wet signature.
Please note that you cannot designate a beneficiary for a non-registered Personal account.
Also note that if you wish to designate a beneficiary for both your Trade TFSA and Trade RRSP, you'll be required to fill out one of each form found above.
*We will follow your electronic beneficiary designation but others may challenge it. To ensure that your beneficiary designation is accepted by all institutions and courts please provide us with an ink signature on the beneficiary form.
